Select your desired character, and see them appear on your Google Meet meeting screen. #### Zoom, Placement, and Expressions In the Hologram extension, click on the avatar icon on the bottom. You can make larger / smaller, place your avatar, and turn on/off expressions that come with your Avatar model. You can also use **hotkeys** to trigger your character's expressions. Hold the Option key (alt key on Windows), and press 1 to trigger the first expression, 2 the second...q the eleventh, w the twelfth...p the last. #### Changing Your Background In the Hologram extension, click on the picture icon on the bottom. You can change your background to PFPs you own, or a color from the palette selector. #### Changing Your Voice In the Hologram extension, click on the microphone icon on the bottom. Tweak the circular pitch slider and click on preview to hear your new voice! Your changes will be applied in real time. ## Platform Guides ### Discord Web To prevent doxxing, do not immediately click on "Video" on the bottom left corner. Instead, click the chat to open the view below. Then click on the arrow next to the camera icon button. This will rid of any video lag. # Hologram Desktop Create content with your holograms. Click on the green round button with the camera icon located on the bottom right corner of the scene. 3. Wait 2 seconds, and you will see your hologram character tracks your face! #### Zoom and Placement To zoom, hover your mouse over the desired item in the scene and scroll using your mouse. Before jumping onto any video call or stream, be sure to open the Hologram Desktop App and prepare your virtual self (connect wallet, select your character / backgrounds, turn on face-tracking, etc.) **Note:** Discord Desktop is the only known platform where virtual camera applications like Hologram, OBS, and others aren't yet supported. We recommend BlackHole for its popularity among OBS users. ### BlackHole BlackHole by existential audio can be used to record macOS desktop audio. It must be set up manually does not support per-application audio capture. 1. [Download BlackHole 16ch](https://existential.audio/blackhole/) and run the installer 2. After you have installed BlackHole 16ch, open the Audio MIDI Setup application

Install [Hologram Desktop App](https://hologram.xyz/download) (Mac-only, Windows coming soon). 2. (Optional) Connect wallet to access your NFT holograms. 3. [Set up ](/quickstart/hologram-desktop)your character, background, face tracking, etc. ## Using Twitch Studio (Mac Friendly) Twitch studio provides a super simple experience to start streaming to Twitch with a few clicks. Download it [here](https://www.twitch.tv/broadcast/studio) and refer to this [guide](https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/getting-started-twitch-studio?language=en_US) for a comprehensive overview. Follow the simple steps below to start streaming with your favorite characters. Under "Edit Green Screen Effect", copy values in "Colors to Remove". ![](/files/hMRGfRGXEyWpVd3EWH8M) In Hologram Desktop, paste the colors value into the background color selector. ![](/files/17a3zuDdsmKlx5MBcH5J) Your character should now appear on top of your stream! ![](/files/buDwum8q7fy29FxIRS8U) # 3D Artist Guide ## Overview Whether you create Live2D or 3D characters, your rigged models can be used on Hologram. **Steps** 1. Model, rig, and skin your character using any [software](https://www.format.com/magazine/resources/design/3d-modeling-software) you are comfortable with. 2. Animate your 3D model using blend shapes or skeletal animations (Optional). 3. Import your character model to [Hologram's web studio](https://hologram.xyz/studio) to try out face-tracking. 4. Use your character model on Google Meet or Discord through the Hologram Chrome Extension. **Requirements (3D)** 1. For **rigging**, you need to follow the Apple ARKit blend shape naming convention. More on this in the "Rigging (3D)" link below, under "References". 2. Export your 3D model as a .gltf or .glb file. #### File Formats Our Chrome extension supports **3D** characters in glTF format and **Live2D** characters in Live2D Cubism's [standard file types](https://docs.live2d.com/cubism-editor-manual/file-type-and-extension/?locale=en_us). We will soon support VRM and FBX formats as well. ## Blendshapes Our real-time face tracking follow the blend shape naming convention of [Apple ARKit](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/arfaceanchor/blendshapelocation). However, not all blend shapes need to be created. Hologram has a tier system for the ARKit blend shapes. Tier 1 consists of the baseline coefficients that the character models should have to be functional. Remaining anon is the norm, not the exception, in most DAOs and Internet communities. ### We can be whoever we want, everywhere... Web 1.0 enabled us to create digital identities. For the first time, online forums and instant messengers allowed us to connect with anyone regardless of our location or appearance. Web 2.0 enabled us to broadcast our digital identities to massive audiences. If our profiles play well with hidden algorithms and advertisers of the largest platforms, we just might go viral. Web 3.0 and the open metaverse enables us to own our digital identities. The reputation and value we accrue remains with us, not the platforms and the aggregators. ### ...but not in realtime. Everyday, we live on Zoom calls for work and Youtube / Twitch for entertainment. Yet we are trapped in our own skins when we turn on the webcam. You can also get an avatar through purchasing one from Hologram's partner collections. ## How can I bring Hologram to my PFP collection? Send a message to "collab-interest" channel of our [Discord](https://discord.gg/thUh8Ut6eW). ## Which video platforms does Hologram support? The Hologram extension can be used on most websites that uses a webcam via the browser. We are carefully rolling out support, starting with Google Meet, Discord web, Slack web, Microsoft Teams, and Gather. If there is a website or platform that you'd like to see Hologram extension support, please submit a request [here](https://hologram.canny.io/feature-requests). The [Hologram Studio](https://hologram.xyz/download) Desktop app extends beyond just websites, and can be used with any desktop-based application, such as Zoom or OBS (for streaming). It comes with a virtual camera (like Snap Cam) which acts as another webcam source. ## Why do I need to connect my wallet? Hologram asks you to connect to your wallet because we use your verified public wallet address to read and display publicly available NFT data and asset files that belongs to you, the true owner. We have **no write permissions** and **no way of manipulating your assets**. ## Is there a chance of doxxing / video feed reverting back to my real face? There is **zero chance** of the video feed reverting back to your real face after Hologram has already been turned on. Not even when face tracking is accidentally lost. How does this work? Our extension completely overwrites the camera feed at the chrome level. The web application will no long have the access to the original camera feed. Try this out yourself! Block the camera with your hand (face tracking will be off), and you will see that your character will still be there. We have other safety checks in place as well. For example, if you log out of the extension or switch accounts, avatar mode will still be active. If you accidentally click the Hologram on/off kill-switch, there will be a popup that warns you of potential doxxing if you proceed. ## How do you handle privacy and security? Your privacy and security is our highest priority. Hologram does not store any personal data. Hologram reads publicly available data from the Ethereum blockchain. We only interact with Metamask or Wallet Connect during authentication, which allows us to display your NFTs on our extension. All computation is done on device, and no camera feed ever leaves your computer. In fact, once you download the extension, it communicates only with your wallet but not our server (we don’t even have a server for extension). To verify all computation happens locally yourself, you can turn off the Internet connection once the avatar is loaded and you will find the face tracking will still work. For the Hologram chrome extension, you can view the privacy practices on the [Chrome Web Store](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hologram/oohijphjhalglmadbknnangmaelnncjd). We do need to work with user activity data such as user clicks, keystrokes, and network conditions to be functional- however these aren't stored anywhere. These are also the same minimum requirements specified by other widely used web3 wallets such as [Metamask](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/metamask/nkbihfbeogaeaoehlefnkodbefgpgknn?hl=en) or [Phantom](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/phantom/bfnaelmomeimhlpmgjnjophhpkkoljpa?hl=en). # Troubleshooting ## Browser Extension ### I just installed my extension and tried to use it on video, but when I turn on the webcam, it is still showing my camera feed. Try these steps in order: 1. Open extension and log in 2. Toggle "off" to "on" the extension bottom navigation bar 3. On your video page (e.g. Google Meet, Discord web, etc.), hit refresh. ### My extension is causing my video to be laggy. There are a few things you can try to fix this. We recommend trying these in order: * Ensure you have hardware acceleration mode on ![Flip the switch to on and click "relaunch"](/files/C7jeQfPTygCEGFRvTT6q) * Refresh your video website tab * Turn off resource-intensive applications and restart your browser * Restart your laptop ### My extension crashes Google Meet when I try to join a meeting. ![](/files/8FiOxPFEz1riyKUVvnis) This is a known issue coming from Google Meet's update server.
